B. Braun in the Philippines

B. Braun started in the Philippines in 1985 with one operating division offering sutures and disposables. In the following year, it added IV fluids and successfully challenged a competitor's virtual monopoly of the market. Thereafter, more divisions like Biotech, Aesculap and Dialysis were added to expand the range of its product offerings. In 2002, B. Braun established Philippine Renal Care, Inc., now known as B. Braun Avitum Philippines—a fully owned subsidiary with a mission of providing affordable and accessible renal care services to patients. A range of enteral nutrition products was added to the portfolio of the company. Today, B. Braun is almost a one-stop company that offers the following health-care products: sutures; infusion solutions and devices; disposable syringes; IV cannula; surgical instruments; dialysis machines; hemo and peritoneal dialysis disposables; clinical nutrition; wound, stoma and diabetic care.

In its more than twenty five years of existence in the Philippines, B. Braun Medical Supplies, Inc. has successfully established itself as a reliable partner and provider of health care products and services. It gives equal priority to customer relationships, sales service as well as excellence in distribution; main ingredients of successful business in this field. In 2007, it has proven its corporate maturity with the achievement of one billion peso sales; thus propelling itself to the second top spot in the local medical supplies industry. As a multi-national company, B. Braun has benefited from the international exposure and worldwide competitiveness of B. Braun Melsungen AG, which is one of the world's largest suppliers of healthcare products.
