The attendees were particularly excited about the lunch symposium, entitled “Fluids in Dengue,” conducted by Dr. Lucy Lum and sponsored by B. Braun Medical Supplies, Inc. (BMSPH).

Attendees were particularly excited about the “Fluids in Dengue” lunch symposium by Dr. Lucy Lum, sponsored by B. Braun. Dr. Lum, a professor of the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Malaya in Malaysia, was also the World Health Organization (WHO) coordinator for the WHO Handbook for Clinical Management of Dengue. During the symposium, she discussed the importance of fluids in dengue and the guidelines as stated in the handbook. In addition to its sponsorship of the symposium, BMSPH also participated in the event by holding a booth exhibit.

Last year, the Pain Therapy field of the BMSPH Hospital Care division expanded into pediatric critical care to introduce Sterofundin and central venous catheters to the specialty. This year, in line with the theme, BMSPH “embraces the future” by launching the Hospital Care therapy concept at the booth, showcasing not only the pain product portfolio, but that of the entire Hospital Care as well for pediatric critical care: from Pain, Infusion (including Automated Infusion Systems), and Nutrition. On display were our products under the five therapy steps: prescription, patient access, preparation, application, and discharge management. Many were interested in seeing the entire B. Braun line of products and were pleasantly surprised at the wide coverage.

A successful and memorable event, many participants walked away enlightened. Hopefully a sign of greater things to come, BMSPH is looking towards a bright future in partnership with SPCCMP.
