Inauguration of Flora V. Valisno De Siojo Dialysis Center

On October 24, 2019, through a joint venture agreement between the City of Manila and B. Braun Avitum Philippines, Inc., the recently headlining “Largest dialysis center in the Philippines” has been expanded to accommodate more indigent Manilans needing quality hemodialysis treatments, free of charge. Since its establishment in November 2014, the center, known as Flora V. Valisno De Siojo Dialysis Center, named after former Mayor Alfredo S. Lim’s grandmother, now holds seventy one B. Braun hemodialysis machines making it the largest hemodialysis machines center nationwide in terms of number of machines.

As a memorable celebration of this milestone on his birthday, Mayor Isko Moreno, together with Vice Mayor Honey Lacuna, Gat Andres Memorial Medical Center Medical Director Dr. Teodoro Martin, and B. Braun Avitum Philippines Managing Director Eduardo Rodriguez inaugurated the Phase III opening of the renowned dialysis center.

Through the generous funding of the City of Manila, not only is the center now able to serve more than five hundred patients, it is also able to provide the quality treatment normally only provided in top tier private hospitals. Firstly, under the aforementioned joint venture agreement, the center is being managed and operated by B. Braun Avitum Philippines nursing management and staff. Known as the only ISO accredited free standing dialysis center in the Philippines today, the company provides world-class quality care with adherence to strict protocols for patient care. On top of regular hemodialysis treatments, the center also boasts of providing intra-dialytic parenteral nutrition (IDPN), a simultaneous therapy procedure to provide proper and comprehensive nutritional support for malnourished patients with chronic kidney disease. In addition, certain patients can also avail of new treatment modalities such as hemoperfusion when a wider range of toxin removal is deemed necessary.

As large as it already sounds now, promising things are still on its way to more patients of Manila through this partnership.  Soon, the City of Manila, in cooperation with B. Braun Avitum Philippines, will again expand the center to reach up to one hundred hemodialysis machines in order to cater to more Manilans whom the Mayor is serving. True to its vision, B. Braun Avitum Philippines strives to forge strong partnerships such as that with the City of Manila in order to protect and improve the health of people around the world. Being the leading dialysis company in the Philippines, it is with great honor that B. Braun shares with Mayor Isko the dream to provide the City of Manila the quality healthcare treatment they deserve.
